Christiana Cabinetry’s

Limited 10 Year Warranty

Cabinets purchased from Christiana Factory Studio will be free from all defects in workmanship and materials for 10 years from the date of delivery by Christiana Cabinetry. This warranty applies to the original cabinet purchaser only and is non-transferable. The cabinetry is constructed and warranted for indoor consumer use only.

Under this warranty, we will repair the cabinet in question or provide a replacement part for any defective material at no charge. Not covered under this warranty are cabinets showing normal wear and tear over the 10 year period; cabinets that have been misused, abused, neglected, changed or modified in any way, and cabinets that were improperly installed; painted cabinetry discolored by tobacco or excessive smoke caused by poor ventilation. Also not covered are cabinets that have been stored (uninstalled) for three months or longer from the date of delivery in a facility other than Christiana Cabinetry. This includes but is not limited to job sites or client’s residence. We do not cover damage resulting from insufficient (under 35%) or excessive (over 65%) humidity in the area where the cabinets have been installed or stored. We are also not responsible for damage resulting from lighting in the cabinets (i.e., halogen lights, etc.). These lights produce excess heat and may dry out the wood. Since we do not install the cabinets, we cannot be responsible for labor charges or damages incurred in the installation, removal, repair or exchange of the cabinets.

We cannot warrant components not manufactured by Christiana Cabinetry; however, these components are generally subject to the warranties of their manufacturers. This is our exclusive warranty, and takes the place of any and all other warranties, either expressed or implied. We will not be responsible for any incidental or consequential damages incurred as a result of defects, aside from our promise to repair or provide replacement parts as stated above.

Caring for your Christiana cabinets

As with all wood products, avoid excessive moisture. Our cabinetry is designed for interior use only and is not intended for outdoor applications.

Once your cabinets have been installed, wipe down all exteriors with a damp cloth to remove any dust. Avoid vigorous rubbing as this will create hot-spots in the wood and ruin the original finish. Wood cabinetry finishes may be cleaned and protected by using commercially available cleaning polish. Christiana Cabinetry recommends an emulsion-type cleaner (such as Murphy’s Oil Soap). These are formulated without wax, petroleum solvents or silicones. The extended use of wax polishes can result in a wax film buildup, while the use of silicone polishes can harm the cabinet’s finish.

Everyday care

Wipe up spills and water marks immediately. Give special attention to areas around the sink and dishwasher, and don’t drape wet or damp dishtowels over the door of the sink base cabinet. Over time, this moisture can cause permanent water damage to the door. If necessary, you can purchase a convenient, out-of-the-way sliding towel rack from your local Christiana Cabinetry dealer.

NOTE: Do not use a dishcloth to wipe your cabinet exterior, as it may contain remnants of grease or detergents.

Cleaning products

Always use a damp cloth to wipe up normal household spills and drips. After wiping thoroughly, dry the surface with a clean, lint-free cotton cloth. For stubborn stains, you may need a mild detergent with warm water. Always dry the surface immediately.

Avoid spray-type polishes (Pledge, Behold, etc.) containing petroleum solvents, as they create a wax build-up on the finish. Neveruse abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or powdered cleansers, and don’t allow oven cleaner to touch any part of the cabinet.

Caring for hardware

Clean knobs and pulls periodically using mild soap and warm water. Thoroughly dry all hardware joints, surfaces and surrounding areas with a clean, soft cloth, then buff with a clean, dry cloth. Clean or dust hinges using cotton-tipped swabs; no lubrication is necessary.

CAUTION: Many brass and silver polishes contain harsh chemicals that can damage the hardware’s surface. These polishes and cleaners are NOT recommended.

Avoid excessive heat

Self-cleaning ovens generate intense heat during a cleaning cycle. Since the integrity of the oven’s seal or gasket may be compromised during installation or with age, Christiana Cabinetry recommends you remove any doors or drawers from cabinets adjacent to or directly above an appliance during a cleaning cycle. This will help prevent possible damage to the finish or surface of these cabinets. All Christiana Cabinet doors feature a quick tool-less demountable feature that lets you easily remove and remount doors.

Care and cleaning of glass doors

For cabinets with glass doors, a few precautions are necessary. Apply glass cleaner to a towel, not directly to the glass. Avoid getting any cleaner on mullions clad in lead, white, gold, or copper.

Care and cleaning of mirrors

Cleaner should always be applied to a cloth, not directly to the mirror, and should not be allowed to run or drip into the base trim. Avoid cleaners that contain sodium hydrochloride, phosphoric acid or sulfur (found in products to prevent mildew and fungus). Hair spray and other hair care products often contain chemicals that are caustic to silver and may cause damage to the mirror back. Do not use abrasives.
